2014 Marshall (Oregon State University
I have had the opportunity to attend many of Ruth Nelson's College Bound Coaches Camps. I started working at the camps in 7th grade and started coming as a player in 9th grade. I haven’t missed a camp in five years!
My experience has been awesome! Attending the camp gave me exposure to many college coaches, I wouldn't have met otherwise. Instead of my parents having to pay for me to go to camps on the various campuses, the coaches came to us! The coaches got to know me, see my talent and abilities, and watch me on the court. We got a lot of reps and as a result, improved our skills and techniques. I used to get nervous knowing college coaches were watching, but not as much anymore. All the coaches were very positive and easy to work with. The experience helped me decide what I was looking for in a coach and college program. In addition, I met the coach I will be playing for at Oregon State through Ruth. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to play in college attend Ruth Nelson's College Bound Coaches Camp. 2014 bingaman (Harding U)I have been attending the college bound training camps for the past two years and I am looking forward to attending again this year!
I have attended other training camps around the area and nothing compares to this camp! There is a limit of how many players can attend which allows you to get more one on one with the coaches as well as get more touches on the ball. The benefits you gain from this camp are amazing: mental training, workouts, small group training, and college coaches expectations. Plus, it's a lot of fun being on the court with players who are all wanting the same thing...to be the best they can be. Bingaman (Parent) The College Bound Training Camp was an awesome experience for my daughter. We loved how the camp had a limit on how many could attend. With limited players in attendance the girls received one on one attention. The coaches focused on all positions. I truly believe that it helped each girl have a better understanding of every position on the court. My daughter will be attending the camp again this summer for the second year in a row. There is not another camp around the DFW area like the College Bound Training Camp!! 2015 BRECKENFELD
Training with Ruth and the college coaches has made me a better player all around. I love going to the college bound network camps because you get one on one feedback from what college coaches expect out of their players for the collegiate level. You learn better technique and get better training with the small size of the camp and all the coaches because each coach has a different style and a main position to teach. From this camp, I gain so much more knowledge than I already have and improve on the little details.
Parent I love the limited size. My daughter has attended various college camps that are expensive and large in size. This camp is limited in number of participants and you know your daughter is getting one on one time with the coaches. Very RARE to find the experience and the specific technique training you are getting. Great value for the money. 2015 Nayar (umass - boston)
The College-Bound Coaches Network Exposure Camp allows you to get specialized training you cannot get anywhere else. Without question, this is the best camp I have ever attended. I was exposed to more in a week than I had taught during months of other training. The coaches are very organized and the quality of their instruction is extremely professional and specific. One of my favorite parts is the environment the coaches create. It is fun and positive, yet challenging and technical. I have strengthened my ball control, basic skills, and the ability to lead and communicate on the court. I highly recommend the College-Bound Coaches Network Exposure Camp!
Nayar Parents Having my daughter attend the College-Bound Coaches Network Exposure Camp was one of the best decisions our family made in regards to her volleyball development. The coaches are precise in their technique instruction and motivational in the drills they provide. Everyone works together to create a positive and energetic atmosphere. It is not about just getting touches on the ball, but getting touches where you can correctly control the ball. Athletes build confidence in their game strategies as they are taught how to communicate effectively on the court. I highly recommend the College-Bound Coaches Network Exposure Camp! It is definitely time and money well spent! 2016 Shalom Ifeanyichukwu (verbal Oregon state University
The College Bound Coaches Network Exposure Camp has been a great experience for me as a player. College Coaches from around the country are there to help improve your game. This camp improved my overall confidence on the court, and I learned how to adapt to different skills that I hadn't used before that helped my game going into the high school and club season. I really liked the size of the camp because I was able to get personalized instruction on a skill or drill from everything to increasing my flexibility to passing and hitting. It is also a very positive and encouraging environment where everyone is focused on learning and improving, while still having fun!
Ifeanyichukwu (Parent ) The College Bound Coaches Network & Exposure Camp is a wonderful program if you have a daughter who plays volleyball at any skill level. Our four daughters, ages 6, 10, 12, and 16, have had an opportunity to experience quality training, and exposure to top College Coaches through participating in programs operated by Ruth Nelson including The College Bound Coaches Camp. The volleyball technique, skills, and drills have particularly been a great asset to our eldest daughter's game. The college coaches are extremely knowledgeable and our daughter learned from the new concepts and information, not just the physical aspect of playing, but the mental and emotional aspect of the game as well. The benefits of participating in this camp truly extend beyond the last day of camp. After participating in this camp, each of our girls were more confident in their skills and even more excited about playing volleyball and school tryouts! 2009 thibodeau (southwestern)
The College Bound Camps are unlike any college exposure camps I've attended. At these camps, each athlete is given an equal opportunity to learn from and showcase their skills for elite college coaches from a variety of divisions, conferences, and states. But the learning isn't limited to the volleyball court. Players also get the opportunity to learn volleyball specific conditioning with great personal trainers and strategies to be a mentally tough player from the attending coaches. The College Bound Camps not only made me a better, more versatile player, but they also gave me the opportunity to network with the coaches present ultimately leading to several recruiting visits.

The opportunity to attend a College-Bound Coaches Network Camp/Clinic should NOT BE MISSED! The high school years are challenging with building the athletic skills for a college volleyball career while balancing academics. During the Coaches Clinic, my daughter had a chance to focus on putting forth her best effort in volleyball while working with amazing Coaches that Ruth invites. This was a great experience as she improved several skills including playing under the pressures teens put on themselves when they know college coaches are watching. The camp went by amazingly quick as interesting drills were run and team building activities were shared. The day always ended with what seemed like a “life lesson.” You can be an awesome athlete but if you don’t have the heart and mental strength to go with it, you won’t go as far. Ruth makes sure that more than just volleyball skills are learned at her camps. This built a foundation for my daughter that carried her through many interviews, game points, inevitable injuries, and challenges that she ultimately conquered with a great store of positive memories! Her four years of college volleyball would not have been as successful without this foundation. DON’T MISS THE COLLEGE-BOUND COACHES NETWORK CAMPS!

2014 Peterson (Newman university)
I have participated in 4 College-Bound Coaches Network Exposure Camps. The camps have been a fantastic opportunity to further my skills as a player as well as gaining exposure to colleges I was interested in attending. This camp taught me many skills in a short amount of time as well as how to be a good teammate. It gave me the opportunity to meet new players too! I'd recommend this camp to all high school players as well as incoming high school freshman! This camp will better prepare you to work with College Coaches and receive the exposure you need! As a direct result of participating in this camp I received two NCAA offers to play Fall of 2014.
Ruth Nelson is a tremendous mentor and coach. I have been so privileged to work with her these past four years. Take advantage of this great opportunity and attend the College-Bound Training Camp! Peterson Parent Sarah has participated in this camp for the last 4 years and has come away so inspired and reinvigorated to play. The connections she has made not only with coaches, but with players, has prepared her to go to the next level. Attending the College-Bound Coaches Exposure Camps is worth it! 2014 Brammer (North TExas)
Training with Ruth and all the college coaches during the college bound camp has helped me develop as a player. I have participated in the last 3 college bound camps but the most recent one I was injured so I wasn't able to participate. Although I was only there to watch, the amount of information I was able to obtain from all the coaches and Ruth was unbelievable. I had no idea just watching drills and listening to the coaches correct and/or reward other girls during play could be so useful. The year before that, I was able to play and the amount of reps I was able to take alone improved myself as a overall player. To add to that, the coaches gave great advice and told me exactly what I needed to work on. Another great aspect of the college bound camp is it gives you an opportunity to better your cognitive aspect of the game. It allowed me to understand what I could do to make myself a better volleyball player off the court. Overall, the camp was extremely useful and I plan on coming back every year.
2015 Shultz (binghamton U)
I have attended the College Bound camp for the past 3 years. Every time I learn something new both about myself as a player, and the game. This camp can provide you with one-on-one training as well as high speed and intensity drills. The training from both Ruth and the college coaches who came in was crucial to me continuing to develop as a player because I learned something new technique-wise from each of them. It was also a good opportunity to learn to be flexible as a player. If you can learn to do something several different ways or play more than one position, you will be more well-rounded of a player. This camp is a great idea for anyone looking for personal training and extra opportunities to get better as a player!
Shultz Parents One-on-one coaching. Position- and player-specific training. Outstanding leadership opportunities. Our daughter has received this and more through the past four years attending the College Bound Coaches Network & Exposure Camp. It is several days of intense, focused training that isn’t available anywhere else. We highly recommend this camp for volleyball players with a desire to be their best. 2016 Kane (undecided)
The College Bound Training Camp helped me develop my skills in a short amount of time. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their skills for high school or college volleyball. Every mentor their is an experienced coach with a lot to offer.
Along with great coaching, I was able to meet an amazing group of girls who I'm still in contact with today. This camp is also where I started my transition to setter. We work on a different skill set everyday and the drills always keep you engaged. In addition, we also got a chance to work with Robert at 3Q fitness. He is an excellent trainer who taught us strength training while preventing injury. The whole camp is unique and completely different from anything I had ever done in the past. If you have the opportunity to go for a few days then it will be worth your while! Kane (Parents) My daughter found the College Bound Training Camp last summer after Nationals and loved the first session so much that she immediately signed up for the next. The attention to technical detail provided by outstanding coaches was unbeatable. Technique, ball control drills, mental and physical toughness were all part of the training. I remember watching part of a session and seeing a former Olympian show my daughter a better way to block. This one change helped my daughter go from just touching a block to having more down balls. My daughter has been to several club and college camps, but none have come close to providing true coaching in the art of volleyball as the College-Bound Coaches Network Exposure Camps. 2012 wonsang (Alabama State University)
I have had the great opportunity to participate in the past 5 college bound events. During this time i have had the opportunity to learn from college coaches from across the nation. Each coach brings their own styles and their own coaching philosophy to the camp. Being able to work with so many different coaches has allowed me to become a more adaptable player and it has prepared me to play at the collegiate level. Not only did my technique improve, but it gave me invaluable exposure to so many college coaches from D1, D2, D3 and NAIA schools.
2012 Morrison (UTD)
The College Bound Training Camp was great for getting exposure to different collegiate coaching styles. I not only got a chance to develop skills, but I also got a peek at a college coach's expectations from a player and how to best adapt to new practice environments. It was a great opportunity to put me on the right path towards my collegiate goals as an athlete.
2009 Campbell (Cornell)
I would recommend the college-bound training camps to any player that thinks they may be interested in playing college volleyball, regardless of skill level. The camps are a great way to be exposed to a large number of coaches not only for recruiting purposes, but also to gain perspectives on different techniques and coaching styles. Ruth's discipline and attention to detail are a big part of the program. She encourages players to focus on mental aspects of the game as well as playing, and now, having played college volleyball, I cannot even begin to tell you how much Ruth's lessons on mindset have helped me. College-bound teaches skills that players can use both on and off the court. It's a valuable experience.
2009 Iwasi (indiana Wesleyan)
I would recommend College Bound Training Camps to anyone who is interested in improving their skills and increasing their exposure to college coaches. This camp is the reason I got recruited to the best fit school for me, Indiana Wesleyan University. I had the opportunity to work with over a dozen college coaches who were all interested in helping us players improve. Not only did my skills improve but my mental game and volleyball strategy did as well. Besides the coaches, I was surrounded by other players like me who wanted to pursue excellence and play in college. The CBTC was crucial in my development as a young player and played a key role in networking with different coaches at all levels.
